At Glamoureyes Optometrists, we believe in investing in the latest technology to offer you a more comprehensive eye exam. Having this technology allows us to accurately detect, monitor and treat eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts and diabetic retinopathy. It enables us to fit more complex contact lenses for people with keratoconus or high astigmatism. We are also now able to quantify, manage and treat moderate to severe chronic dry eyes.

Retinal Photography

This instrument allows us to capture the central 45degrees of an individual’s retina with great detail and allows us to photodocument and monitor any changes to their blood vessels, macula disease and optic nerve head changes caused by optic neuritis, papilloedema and glaucoma.

Visual Field Examination

Using computerised algorithms, this technology allows us to map someone’s peripheral vision with great details. This machine is used to check for suspected blind spots, primary open angle glaucoma, secondary glaucoma, brain aneurysms, stroke suspicion and pituitary tumours and adenomas.

Corneal Pachymetry

Using ultrasound technology, this device helps us to measure the corneal thickness of an individual’s eyes. This enables us to check for the risk profile for someone we suspect has glaucoma tendencies.

Corneal Topography

This is an instrument that allows us to map the entire curvature of the cornea. We are able to see degrees of astigmatism and irregular corneal diseases such as keratoconus and pellucid marginal degeneration. This instrument is used regularly when we are fitting more complicated contact lenses for our patients.

Superfield Fundus Examination

Using high powered lenses from 78D to 92D, we are able to see an in depth and detailed view of the back of our patient’s eyes. This allows us to detect diseases such as optic nerve head swelling, microanerysms, retinal bleeds, retinal holes and retinal tears.
